In the early 1950s, Chrysler crafted a remarkable series of concept cars, with the 1954 Dodge Firearrow IV roadster concept standing out as particularly promising, and seemingly ready for production. Despite its potential, Chrysler executives decided not to give the green light for mass production. Hagerty senior auction editor Andrew Newton calls this decision one of the most significant “what-ifs” in 1950s automotive history. The sole existing model of what many think of as a missed opportunity found a buyer in Venezuela. Now, 70 years later, the one and only ’54 Dodge Firearrow IV is set to be auctioned at The Amelia event in Florida this weekend.
