‘Merica, Baby!

There’s nothing we love more than seeing red, white and blue flying down the drag strip. Buddy Dickerson and his kids, Madison and Cameron, are often spotted at the track in the greater St. Louis area. Dickerson races at Nostalgia Drag Racing League events in one of his two first-generation Dodge Chargers. He has rebuilt this 1966 Dodge Charger, the seventh off the assembly line, many times and stripped it down to 3,250 pounds – including the driver. That’s almost 1,000 pounds less than his second Charger and daily driver. The Charger has a 493-cubic-inch engine with a combination of impressive modifications assembled by well-known shops in the area. Dickerson, a proud patriot, says the familiar paint scheme was inspired by a recent trip to visit Pearl Harbor and more specifically by the USS Arizona. Dickerson is still working on his All-American ’66 Dodge Charger to shave some time off his e.t., but in the meantime is running well and having fun with it.
