Skyview Drags Set to Re-open!

3 months ago Racing

The Skyview Drags, an 1/8-mile drag racing facility in Owego, New York, closed in 2018 but is now preparing for a grand re-opening. A new owner is investing in the drag strip’s restoration and Pat Schrader, a veteran local racer, is the operational manager leading the efforts. The owner aims to bring the facility to a higher standard, and is planning to add new features like four-wheeler and go kart tracks on the 440-acre property. Schrader and volunteers have already begun cleaning the six-year-closed facility and making much needed structural repairs. There’s significant interest from racers and fans, with plans for group events and weekly Saturday bracket racing in the works for 2024. We’re excited to see New York’s Skyview Drags brought back to life. Let us know in the comments if you’ve been there!
