The 2023 HEMI® Day T-Shirt Just Dropped!

1 year ago Showcase

April 26 (or 4/26) is known as HEMI® day to those in the automotive world. The reference comes from the 426-cubic-inch HEMI V8 engine that was introduced in 1964 and was available through the 1971 model year. It was nicknamed “Elephant” because of its massive size and impressive output. As you may know, each year we celebrate the holiday with a new T-shirt and a portion of the proceeds is donated to a worthy cause. This year’s tee features artwork by Daney Chhang, a designer at the Mopar® Product Design Office. The custom graphic is big and bold on the front in orange, black and white. There’s also a number 13 badge on the back – a tribute to Dyno Cell #13 at Highland Park. It was one of four race dynamometers used by Chrysler in the ’60s and ’70s, and was used by Tom Hoover and team to test the 426 during production.

The charcoal heather short-sleeve crew neck is available in men’s and women’s sizes and made from a cotton polyester blend. You can order your shirt starting today, February 27 and know that a portion of your purchase will be donated to United Way for Southeastern Michigan. But don’t wait! Sales end March 6 to ensure that your shirt will arrive mid-April and before the big day. Shop the 2023 HEMI Day T-shirt and let us know in the comments if you participated in HEMI Day last year!
