A Look at the Dodge Products in the New Forza Motorsport

7 months ago Showcase

Forza Motorsport is the 8th chapter of the legendary racing simulator, following Forza Motorsport 7 (but without the number at the end) with new tracks, new vehicles and improved graphics thanks to the newest generation of Xbox consoles. The game hit the market during the first week of October for those who bought the Premium Edition of the game, while other versions hit virtual shelves on October 10th.

At the launch of the game, Forza Motorsport boasts a list of over 500 vehicles from over 75 brands around the world, and 16 of those initial vehicles are from the Dodge brand. Keep in mind that one of the popular features of Forza Motorsport is the regular addition of new vehicles after a game has been launched, so there is a good possibility that we will see more products from multiple Mopar® brands down the road, but for those buying the game right now – here is a look at the first collection of Dodge cars to be offered.

Classic and Modern Muscle

The newest Dodge muscle car on the initial vehicle list for Forza Motorsport is the 2015 Charger SRT® Hellcat and that is joined by the 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Those two modern HEMI® engine-powered beasts are joined by a spread of classic Dodge muscle cars, including the 1970 Coronet Super Bee, the 1970 Challenger R/T, the 1969 Charger R/T and the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona – all of which come powered by the 426-cubic-inch HEMI engine.

It should be noted that on the official Forza Motorsports website, they originally stated that the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is included, but so far, it is not available for me to purchase. I am guessing that it will either be unlocked as a reward for some in-game accomplishment or it will be included in a future car pack. There have also been reports online that the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat is included as a reward for the “tour” program in the game, but again, I have not seen it in my time playing the game. The SRT Hellcat Challenger is a popular vehicle on Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 5, so I would be shocked if it isn’t included at some point, but again, it could be part of a car pack down the road (if it isn’t added as a reward).

In addition to these Dodge brand vehicles, the 1972 Chrysler Valiant Charger R/T is offered, presenting a unique piece of Charger nameplate history in the Australian market.

The Mighty Viper

Forza Motorsport is a track-based road racing simulator and the Dodge Viper is arguably the greatest road racing vehicle ever offered by the brand, so it should come as little surprise to see that there is a collection of V10-powered Mopar supercars in the vehicle roster. This includes the 2016 Viper ACR, the 2013 SRT Viper GTS, the 2008 Viper SRT10 ACR and the 1999 Viper GTS ACR, all of which are based on the road car.

There is also the 2014 #93 SRT Motorsports Viper GTS-R racecar, which is the endurance racecar that Dodge campaigned in the world of LeMans racing.

Front-Drive Performance

Finally (for now), the 8th Forza Motorsport includes a quartet of front-wheel-drive-based Dodge performance vehicles starting with the 2013 Dart GT, the 2005 Neon SRT-4 ACR and the 1986 Shelby Omni GLHS. The fourth car in this grouping is the Stealth R/T Turbo, which is a front-drive-based platform, but of course, the R/T Turbo features all-wheel-drive.

The First Car Pass Dodge

Forza Motorsport will introduce 30 more vehicles via the “Car Pass” that comes with the Premium and Deluxe versions of the game, but gamers who bought the standard version can also buy the Car Pass in the Premium Add-Ons Bundle. The company has already announced the list of the first four Car Pass vehicles, with one debuting each week of October. On October 12th, the second new car introduced via the Car Pass was a Dodge that is new to the Forza franchise – having not appeared in any previous Motorsport or Horizon titles.

The 2019 Dodge #9 American V8 Road Racing TA Challenger is based on the Trans Am racecar of Jeff Hinkle and it should be the most formidable Mopar muscle car on Forza Motorsport. Of course, this car is not based on a production Challenger road car, so it is substantially lighter and more capable on the intricate road racing tracks. It comes in a gray livery, but as you can see here, I have customized one of these cars with a #707 Go Mango-and-black Dodge brand theme.
