The Performance Racing Industry Trade Show (PRI) turned 30 this year and even though its SEMA big brother might overshadow it, PRI is a very hardcore event and offers the latest in racing equipment technology. With over 1,000 vendors and over 3,000 booths, suppliers of racing and performance parts packed the massive Indiana Convention Center, located dead smack in the center of downtown Indianapolis. As usual, PRI showcased the latest advances in high-performance technology and machining/fabrication equipment for the racing industry.

There was a constant flow of PRI attendees who were like kids in a candy store looking at all the glistening go-fast engine, suspension, brake and drivetrain hardware designed to make your car or truck go faster, handle quicker and look cooler. The PRI Trade Show is also a great place to check out the cool racecars and bad-to-the-bone street machines on the show floor.

Both Dodge and Mopar® made their presence known among the thousands of attendees who came by our awesome display, which included the 840-horsepower 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT® Demon and 1,200-horsepower Mopar Challenger Drag Pak, both packing supercharged HEMI® v8 goodness under their lightweight, aluminum hoods. Enthusiasts also got to check out Mopar Performance’s new GEN III aluminum HEMI block engine and numerous components for a late-model HEMI that swaps into vintage Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram or Plymouth Brand vehicles. SRT and Mopar Performance Engineers were also at PRI answering numerous tech questions from die-hard enthusiasts.

Dodge muscle wasn’t just inside our display. Hanging from the rafters of the main entrance of the Indiana Convention Center was Matt Hagan’s nitro-burning, 11,000-horsepower, HEMI-powered NHRA Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car. Everyone walking into the show got a good look at this high-tech piece of aluminum, carbon fiber and chrome moly steel, all wrapped around a wind tunnel-tested body that’ll accelerate to 1,000 feet in 3.802 seconds at 338.85 mph.

If it’s extreme performance products that get your heart racing, then you must check out the annual PRI Trade Show. Even though it’s open only to attendees who work in the automotive and/or racing industry, put it on your bucket list. If your livelihood is outside the performance industry but you still love racing, then phone a friend. The PRI Trade Show is a must-see event for gearheads with high-octane fuel running through their veins.
