Dodge Comes Out on Top

1 year ago Heritage

When muscle cars first hit the scene in the late 1960s, manufacturers were quick to respond. Each brand spent the next few years competing for the sexiest design backed by the most horsepower, trying to outdo their rivals. So, who came out victorious? It’s hard to measure these vehicles side-by-side because there are so many factors to consider. Hagerty did it for us, in a way that they say avoids “apples-to-oranges comparisons.” With 1,900 vehicles built by the Big Three between 1968 and 1972, they first had to narrow their scope by including only two-door cars with V8s. Next, they segmented the comparison into groups using factors like model year and trim level. The study ended up including 26 groups that ranked the most valuable vehicle from each make. Finally, they cross-ranked the group to come to a conclusion on the highest overall average. By this analysis, Dodge has the most sought-after muscle cars ever on the market. Who’s surprised? We’re not. Let us know in the comments your thoughts on the results!
