James Simpson is a fourth-generation racer who recently got his hands on a Dodge Challenger and is planning to make his Trans Am Series debut. Simpson is just 18 years old but comes from a long line of experience, beginning with his great-grandfather who raced motorcycles. His grandfather won numerous titles and James’ father also raced in a number of categories. Bathurst in April will be the first round for James and he’s looking forward to the challenge, despite still getting used to some of the obstacles that come with driving a new vehicle. “Right-hand to left-hand-drive, front-wheel to rear-wheel-drive, it’ll be pretty interesting, but will be a lot of fun,” he said. He’s familiar with some of the competition, having already raced against both Jett Johnson and Nash Morris. Simpson says he’d been considering a variety of different classes but fell in love with watching Trans Am. Read all about Simpson’s debut and tune in to the third round of the series starting April 15th to cheer him on.
