Dodge Teases the New Charger on Social Media

4 months ago Showcase

Since Dodge introduced the world to the Charger Daytona SRT® Concept back in 2022, the brand has been showing off their sleek electric coupe at events around the country, but there has not been much news regarding the next-generation car since that Speed Week debut. That all changed on the morning of January 12, when the Dodge social media channels shared a small group of pictures of a pre-production Charger from the next generation – giving the world its first good look at the new Dodge muscle car that will be coming to market later this year.

The Dodge social media posts were short and sweet:

“No cameras or recording devices permitted. Pre-production model shown. Available late 2024.”

There was no further information offered, but based on the five images shared, there is no mistaking this as a variation of the Dodge Charger SRT Daytona Concept that has been on display around the country for the past year. There are small variations here and there, but overall, the styling of the pre-production car shown here is very similar to that of the SRT Daytona Concept.

Most notably, this pre-production Dodge Charger has a very similar face to the concept, with LED trim around the grille and the Fratzog logo in the middle. While it is a bit hard to tell, it looks as though there is some light shining down behind the grille from the front of the hood, suggesting that the R-Wing design from the concept car has made it through to production. This pre-production car also has a bulging hood and large vents across the bottom of the front end, so overall, the car shown here has the same handsome face at the Dodge Charger SRT Daytona Concept.

Along the sides, there are some minor sculpting changes, but this pre-production Charger continues to follow the design language of the 2022 concept car very nicely, with the bodylines over the wheels giving this car a familiar look to the generations that came before it.

The sole rear end shot of this pre-production Dodge Charger does not showcase any of the lights in their illuminated state, so it is hard to tell how closely the lighting design follows that of the SRT Daytona Concept. There are some more subtle sculpting changes out back when compared to the concept, but what we can see has a very familiar look to it – carrying forward the racetrack design feel from the previous generation. Finally, if you look closely at the bottom of the car in the rear end shot, you can see the word “Daytona” between the reflectors.

Based on what we can see in these images of the next-generation Dodge Charger in pre-production form, the team has done an incredible job of taking the key design cues of a stunning concept car and applying them to a great-looking pre-production road car. Provided that the production model looks like the pre-production model shown here, the future is looking very bright for the Dodge Charger.
