One of Mr. Norm’s Muscle Cars is Still on the Road

Steve Lauderdale is the lucky owner of a 1970 Dodge Challenger Trans Am 340 Six Pack purchased from the legendary Norm Kraus back in 1983. If you don’t remember the name, Mr. Norm’s Chicago dealership Grand Spaulding Dodge quickly became the largest in the world when he started dyno tuning every vehicle purchased on his lot – for free. Norm became a household name despite selling his share in 1977 to spend more time with his family, and his vehicles are still highly sought after today. Lauderdale had to beg his wife and take out a loan to make the purchase that would become his daily driver for the last almost 40 years. The Challenger is in beautiful condition and is still almost entirely original, complete with the one-of-a-kind Mr. Norm sticker on the rear spoiler. Even with similar models valued at up to $198,000, Lauderdale’s not likely to sell. “It brings the teenager out in me. I meet people with it, and I like taking them out in it,” he says of his beloved muscle car. Check out his full story and don’t miss the video below!
