Introducing the HellJet

2 years ago Owners + Clubs Video

Does the name Westen Champlin ring a bell? Let us refresh your memory. After a year hiatus, Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge returned in 2021 with a new twist – the “Celebrity Showdown”. Four automotive influencers were selected for a chance to beat Eric Malone, star of MotorTrend’s series Fastest Cars in the Dirty South, on the track. They were tasked with building their own drag racing machines out of a Dodge SRT® Hellcat and $10,000 cash for modifications. At the end of the year, they had to return the Hellcat – but were able to keep just about everything besides the shell and wheels. Champlin was one of those competitors and used his 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 to turn a retired police vehicle into what he’s calling a HellJet. The addition of twin-turbos, compliments of a Hellion turbo kit, boosted the engine’s horsepower to a total of 1,300! It’s fighter-jet teeth, green matte exterior and next-level power give the nickname all the credit it needs. Tune in below as Champlin walks us through the build.
