Finnegan Shenanigans Are Always Fun

Mike Finnegan is always up to something and this latest adventure is sure to be a blast. Finnegan is road tripping his fake 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona to Dallas, Georgia, to the original location of Southeastern International Dragway. Southeastern International Dragway opened on July 4, 1955, and provided a safe place to race for the locals. Eventually, it held NHRA events and seeing the likes of Garlits, Beswick, Nicholson, Hubert Platt and Phil Bonner pulling into the beams and giving the crowd at the Northern Georgia facility quite a show. However, all good things must come to an end and the drag strip held its final race on December 11, 2005, bringing to a close an impressive 50-year run that saw the small town strip outlive many of its ’50s-era counterparts by a couple of decades. The land has since been sold to a developer and now homes will line streets where tire-shredding championships were once won. Finnegan is hoping to get one more burnout in before the strip is completely gone … does he make it?
