Our Kind of Engine Swap

The 1971 Plymouth GTX-R was originally equipped with a V8 440 that churned out 390 horsepower. Not at all bad for its generation. This custom GTX-R tops that by almost 300 horsepower with the Dodge Viper 8.4-liter V10 under the hood. We always love to see a supercar crossover, and this restomod just became an extremely rare vehicle. The work was done by Horsepower Northwest in Washington, a tuner that prefers their projects to be driven rather than kept pretty in a collection. The exterior is just as impressive as the engine swap, and the custom bronze rims tie in perfectly with the F8 body. Find out everything that went into this ’70 Plymouth GTX-R with the heart of a Viper.
