In the ever-evolving world of automotive customization, a bold and innovative trend is taking the car enthusiast community by storm: body-swapped cars. Making their mark in this niche but rapidly growing movement is Peretti’s Classics, a New York-based car dealership specializing in classics and performance. Their builds are redefining what it means to blend vintage style with modern performance. By grafting iconic classic car bodies onto contemporary chassis, Peretti’s Classics is creating one-of-a-kind vehicles that marry nostalgia with cutting-edge technology. Two standout projects – a 1969 Super Bee atop a supercharged 2009 Dodge Challenger with a 6-speed manual and a 1968 Dodge Charger over a 2018 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack 6-speed – showcase the shop’s mastery and highlight why body swaps are becoming a celebrated automotive trend.

Peretti’s Classics, under the skilled hands of Niko Peretti, has carved out a reputation for pushing the boundaries of automotive craftsmanship. Based in a workshop where creativity meets precision, Niko and his team specialize in transforming classic muscle cars into modern marvels without sacrificing their timeless aesthetic. The concept is simple yet ambitious. Take the iconic body of a vintage car and mount it onto the chassis of a modern vehicle, complete with its advanced engineering, performance and creature comforts. The result is a vehicle that looks like it rolled out of a 1960s showroom but drives like a 21st-century muscle car.

Body-swapping is no small feat. It requires meticulous planning, engineering expertise and a deep understanding of both vintage and modern automotive design. The process involves stripping a classic car down to its body shell, reinforcing it as needed and carefully aligning it with the chassis of a modern donor vehicle. This often demands custom fabrication, such as modifying the firewall, floor pans or wheel wells, to ensure a seamless fit. The goal is to preserve the classic car’s exterior while integrating modern interior, suspension, brakes, drivetrain and electronics.
When Niko revealed the pair, we knew it was time to make a special visit to see these masterpieces in person, even though there are a few remaining details and touches to be worked out before they hit the open market. The pair has already taken social media by storm and are expected to go well into 6 digits when they go up for sale. Don’t worry if you miss out on the opportunity to buy one, as Peretti’s classics plans to release a few of these unique body swaps every year!
