Next on the Auction Block…

This 1971 Plymouth Barracuda convertible is sure to turn heads at the Mecum Glendale Auction this weekend, March 18-20. The ’Cuda E-body was only in the market for five years but is still arguably one of the best-known nameplates from the former Plymouth brand. This example stands out because it’s one of just 87 ’Cuda convertibles powered by the 6.3-liter V8 and still has its original broadcast sheet and window sticker. The base MSRP for a ’71 was just over $3,400 when it was introduced, but this particular car was pretty well-optioned. It features power steering, power brakes with front discs, and even factory air conditioning – which only about half of vehicles sold at that time were equipped with. The exterior is Rallye Red with black “383” billboard stripes, dual body-color exterior mirrors and some of the classic ’Cuda touches that we’re familiar with. Get up to date before the bidding starts on Saturday, and let us know how much you think it will go for in the comments!
