Modern Mopar® Muscle Invades Ontario California

– 23RD RUNNING OF MOPAR®-BASED EVENT
– INLAND MOPARS ORIGINAL HOST CLUB
– SYNISTER SOCAL CAR CLUB JOINED IN 2025 TO CO-HOST FOR MODERN MOPAR PARTICIPATION

It came as a nice surprise, traveling to the “Mopars in May” annual car show in Ontario, CA, located in San Bernardino County, 35 miles straight east of downtown Los Angeles. This well-attended Mopar event traditionally put on my the Inland Mopars Car Club, based in the Inland Empire (Riverside, San Bernardino, Ontario, surrounding areas). For the past 23 years, it’s been a well-known place, a fantastic resource to see some hot Dodges, Plymouths, Chryslers, Vipers, swap meet items… always a great selection!

The bonus for 2025 was the inclusion of increased amount of “Modern Mopar Muscle” vehicles, which besides the Challengers and Chargers, Chrysler 300s, there were Durangos well represented. This came as a result of a fellow car club’s increased involvement: Synister SoCal!

Synister SoCal is an American Muscle Car and Truck Club that is based in San Diego, with heavy content of all things “Modern Mopar”! This group’s goal is to grow and develop themselves as a family of close friends, creating long-lasting memories that all dig cars! When combined with the always well-stocked vintage and classic Mopar vehicles that are a tradition at this Ontario gathering, it made for a very complete event that catered to a wide-based audience.

While it was hosted by the combination of Inland Mopars and Synister SoCal, there were numerous other clubs included in the presentation! A total of 16 clubs from the areas jointed in to support, participate in the day of Mopar celebration. 909 Mopars, Mopar SoCal, Mopar Club of San Diego, Diamond Valley Mopars, Chrysler Performance West (CPW), Walter P. Chrysler (WPC), West Coast Cali Mopars, South Bay Mopars, Mopar Knights, Only Mopars, So Cal Challengers, West Coast Durangos, plus some non-exclusive Mopar clubs, a great turnout by all!

Here’s a photographic overview of the Modern Mopar Muscle segment of the show, which made for the perfect blending of newer vehicles for the other portion of Mopars in May, vintage Chrysler products of all sorts!

SYNISTER SOCAL CAME IN FORCE

The car club Synister SoCal started as a group with shared interest (Modern Mopars!) leading to a closely knit group of friends, a successful team, that have made and continue in making memories while enjoying their rides. A family, united by their cars, and it has grown substantially. Strength in numbers!

We talked with a number of Synister SoCal club members, including this couple with a 2021 Destroyer Grey Scat Pack Charger. It’s stock now, however there’s plan for some tasteful modifications soon!

909 MOPARS

“909” is the area code in Southern California for a region that includes parts of eastern LA county, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The car club 909 Mopars is a family-oriented group in that area, and it was established back in 2015, with their focused charity being the CHiPs for Kids (California Highway Patrol). They have regular car cruises, attend car shows, charity events, plus club get togethers.

MOPAR OR NO CAR

This enthusiastic group had come from Los Angeles to experience the show, and after a nice conversation about things like “What’s your favorite modern Mopar” and also a quick history lesson about the meaning of “Mopar” as in “motor parts” and the back story of the history, it was time to grab a photo of the crew -they dig all things Mopar and cherish Gen III HEMI® engine-powered ones especially!

HERS NOT HIS / HIS NOT HERS

These two SRT® Charger owners obviously know one another! The woman has spoken, the man has spoken, clearly a happy Mopar couple. All in good fun!

And in this particular instance, the man managed to follow her out and in essence getting the last word: “Revenge will never solve anything, karma will.” Words of wisdom for sure!

WESTCOAST CALI MOPARS

Westcoast Cali Mopars has been an active participant in the California Mopar scene since 2013, and they are a familiar sight at numerous Southern California car gatherings!

“Bagged” SRT Challenger Hellcat Widebody was included in their showing!

SHAKER FROM NEVADA

Pristine strobe-striped “Shaker” hood Challenger made the trek from Nevada to be a part of the scene!

SAN DIEGO CHALLENGERS

2011 Challenger R/T (5.7L HEMI) is a classic example of just how much these cars are cherished by owners, and this black w/red accents example came from the San Diego area to support the event.

One had to look close to see “red” on the Hellcat emblem, but sure enough, a supercharged HEMI engine delivering 797 horsepower in all its glory: An SRT Challenger Redeye version, Widebody, traveled from the San Diego region to Ontario, all to be a part of the fun day of Mopar celebration.

ALSO INCLUDED: CHRYSLER 300

Happy couple with their 2016 300 Limited model, rolling on 20s and with a 2-inch suspension drop, Granite Crystal Metallic factory paint. A member of the Mopar So-Cal club, it’s always great to see the Chrysler brand represented!

This one came in from Orange County, a ton of metal work: rear doors removed, front doors lengthened, hard top conversion! People who didn’t realize that all 2005-2023 Chrysler 300 cars were exclusively 4-door sedans, when some saw this flamed, one-off custom creation the flame job caught their eyes. The builder did such a flawless job that it’s easy to conclude that’s the way the car rolled off the assembly line!

CHARGER SELECTION

2018 Charger Scat Pack in showroom condition, they both are loyal Mopar fanatics and the car has made its way down the Irwindale drag strip a few times!

While the Challengers did outnumber the Chargers at the event, there’s no question Chargers hold their own in the looks and performance departments, plus the practicality aspect with the two extra doors!

POWERFUL SRT HELLCAT REDEYE

With coffee in hand and holding a book with “Powerful” on the cover, well it was rather appropriate this visitor to the show, and her family, to stop by and admire the 2021 Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody!

The lush grassy Carpenter’s Union Park where the event was staged had lots of modern-era Challengers on hand, some modified, some factory original. Something about this particular car did attract people to check it out! It is completely stock, done in White Knuckle paint with the factory option carbon stripes… an attention-grabber for sure.

VIPER GTS

Every Mopar vehicle is welcome! With the vast majority of the displayed cars being HEMI engine-powered, it’s important to never forget, overlook the mighty Dodge Viper! This PG7 Stryker Green GTS was part of the scene with its V10 powerplant.

CHARGER UTE

Some may have thought it was from Australia or Brazil, somewhere overseas, but in reality it’s a full conversion for 2005-2010 Chargers which definitely creates a head-turning Mopar! The kit includes fiberglass quarter panels, Chevy Colorado rear glass, steel tailgate with hinges, fiberglass rear roll pan and aluminum bed panels. Dodge Grand Caravan / Chrysler Town & Country taillights (2008-10) are required to make it all work!

DURANGO CLUB

“West Coast Durangos” is an active Southern California Car Club that is growing, and one of the things they stand for is “community enrichment” as example they regularly donate to the local Los Angeles area High School District, making a positive impact on the lives of the students. Good Job! Their involvement at this Ontario event for sure added to the variety of cool Modern Mopars displayed.

DURANGO PURSUIT

What could be more fitting for an all-Mopar event in Ontario than the Ontario Police to make an appearance with one of their Durango “Squad Cars” to make a showing?

NEXT UP

This Mopar event has a long tradition of showcasing classic Chrysler-built vehicles and with lots of variety! California Old School is a common sight and the 2025 show was no exception. Vintage muscle, trucks, vans, Jeep® vehicles and an impressive amount of resto-mods, all included as part of the continued coverage: next to come!
