Dodge Charger Icons Across Generations Hit the Mecum Glendale Auction Block

Few nameplates in American performance history carry the weight of the Dodge Charger. As the iconic muscle car celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2026, several examples spanning multiple generations will cross the auction block at Mecum Glendale, taking place March 17–21 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

From classic big-block muscle to modern supercharged performance, the lineup of Chargers scheduled to appear at Mecum reflects the evolution of one of Dodge’s most legendary nameplates.

Among the vintage highlights are a pair of 1968 Dodge Charger R/T models (lots F237 & S210) representing the early years of the second-generation Charger that helped cement the car’s reputation during the height of the muscle car era. With their distinctive fastback styling and performance-focused R/T pedigree, the 1968 Chargers remain some of the most recognizable muscle cars ever built.

Another piece of vintage Charger history heading to Glendale is a 1970 Dodge Charger (lot S221), a model year that marked one of the final chapters of the Charger’s original muscle car era. The 1970 model carries the bold styling and street presence that made the Charger a dominant force on both the road and the screen.

Modern Mopar muscle will also be represented in the auction lineup. A 2023 Dodge Charger SRT^® Hellcat Widebody Jailbreak (lot F71) brings the supercharged performance of Dodge’s modern era to the block, showcasing the widebody stance and customization options that defined the Jailbreak program.

Also appearing is a 2023 Dodge Charger King Daytona (lot S303), one of Dodge’s special-edition “Last Call” models created to celebrate the final production year of the HEMI^® engine-powered Charger. The King Daytona pays tribute to the legendary West Coast drag racer “Big Willie” Robinson and his famous “King Daytona” Charger.

Together, these vehicles offer a snapshot of Charger performance across decades. From the muscle car battles of the late 1960s and early 1970s to the supercharged horsepower wars of today.
