Grudge Match Gladiators: Garrett Dobbs

Garrett Dobbs grew up in the small town of Seymour, Texas, before leaving to serve in the United States Marine Corps for eight years. Today, he is a husband, father and IT network engineer, but he is best known in the online automotive world for his 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT® Hellcat, which he calls SRT Scarlette. When Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge kicks off in Metro Detroit in August, Dobbs will be one of the social media celebrities chosen to compete in the Hurricane Grudge Match and he will do so in a Dodge Magnum.

The details on Garrett Dobbs’ 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T are slim right now, but like all of the Grudge Match competitors, his car will be powered by a Hurricane 3.0-liter, twin turbocharged inline-six matched to a ZF 8HP75 automatic transmission. The engine will be controlled by a Motec standalone system and extra power will be provided by Nitrous Outlet. From Dobbs’ first video introducing his Magnum, we also know that the car is fully stripped of everything that someone doesn’t need to go drag racing, so it should be nice and light, but that is the extent of the available information right now.

Now, while Dobbs didn’t provide us with much information – as he, like others, wants to keep the details of his outlaw build private from his competitors – he did provide the names of some other companies with whom he is working on this build. His sponsors for the build include Baily’s Hyperformance, Advanced Racing Solutions, Monks Mobile Automotive repair, AAD Performance, Tucker Racing and NYA Photographer, and from that list, we can make some guesses as to what else he has cooking for the big race.

Baily’s Hyperformance is one of the industry leaders in building fast modern Mopar® vehicles and they have been involved with multiple Roadkill Nights Grudge Match competitors in the past, so owner Chris Baily is surely a wealth of knowledge on this build. Another familiar name on his sponsor list is AAD Performance – the undisputed leader in modern Mopar suspension upgrades. Finally, NYA Photographer handles all of Dobbs’ media, providing all of the great footage on his social media channels.

As for the other names on his sponsor list, we will have to wait until we get closer to the event to find out how they contributed, but we should remind you that this year’s Grudge Match is an outlaw class, so the competitors can do literally whatever they want with the build – so long as it is powered by the Hurricane engine. We can’t wait to see what Garrett Dobbs and his team has in store for this Dodge Magnum when the cars hit the track on August 9th for the 2025 Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge.
