Twin Turbos. Two Attitudes. R/T vs. Scat Pack Breakdown

Over the past few months, I’ve been fortunate enough to be included in several media testing programs for the new Dodge Charger. In speaking with other members of the media and fans of the brand during those events, I have found that a great many people don’t understand that differences between the Charger SIXPACK in R/T and Scat Pack form. So today, we bring you a look at how the two different Hurricane-powered SIXPACK cars differ from each other.

Mechanical Differences

The most significant difference between the 2026 Dodge Charger SIXPACK R/T and the 2026 Dodge Charger SIXPACK Scat Pack is the engine. Both models come with the twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter Hurricane straight six, but the R/T comes with the standard output engine with 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque, while the Scat Pack features the high output engine, delivering 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. The R/T and Scat Pack both send their power to the wheels by means of an 8-speed transmission, an advanced all-wheel-drive system and a limited-slip rear differential with 3.45 gears. The Scat Pack also has a more aggressive exhaust note than the R/T.

The 2026 Dodge Charger SIXPACK R/T has an official 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 12.9 seconds, while the SIXPACK Scat Pack’s numbers from Dodge are 3.9 seconds for 0-60 and 12.2 for the quarter-mile.

Next, the 2026 Dodge Charger SIXPACK Scat Pack (and Scat Pack Plus) comes standard with performance suspension, 6-piston Brembo high-performance brakes and 20×10-inch wheels wrapped in 275/40/20 rubber – none of which is standard on the SIXPACK R/T. The base Charger SIXPACK R/T comes with two-piston “sport” brake systems, Touring suspension and 18-inch wheels with 245/55/18 tires, while the R/T Plus has those same two-piston brakes, Sport suspension and 20×9-inch wheels with 255/45/20 tires.

The good news for Dodge Charger SIXPACK R/T buyers is that if they select the Performance Handling Group package, they get the performance suspension, Brembo brakes, and 20-inch wheels and tires from the Scat Pack. The Performance Handling Group also adds the Launch Control, Line Lock and Performance Pages from the Scat Pack, providing R/T owners with a similar performance driving experience.

Interior and Exterior Differences

The differences between the 2026 Dodge Charger SIXPACK in R/T and Scat Pack form are largely the badges and the aforementioned mechanical bits. The R/T models with the Touring and Sport suspension sit a touch higher than the Scat Pack with the Performance suspension and the 18-inch wheels of the base R/T are specific to that model. The R/T models have the R/T badges, the Scat Pack models have the angry bee badges and the R/T models without the Performance Handling Group do not have a rear spoiler, while the Scat Pack comes standard with the rear spoiler.

Inside, the 2026 Dodge Charger SIXPACK R/T without any option group packages comes with several features that are only available with this base package. That includes the all-cloth seats, a manual rearview mirror, a flat-bottom/flat-top steering wheel without shift paddles and a 6-speaker sound system. The shift paddles are standard on all other SIXPACK models, as are the auto-dimming mirror, the 9-speaker sound system and leather/leather-like seating surfaces. The R/T Plus (and Scat Pack Plus) come standard with a leather-like vinyl seating surface, while the Scat Pack comes with a leather-and-cloth seat in standard form. However, R/T and R/T Plus buyers can upgrade to leather or leather-like seats with the Driver Convenience Group or Performance Handling Group, and this includes the high-back, racing-inspired seats that were introduced in the Scat Pack models.

Beyond those components, which are only part of the base Dodge Charger SIXPACK R/T, the majority of interior features are shared between the R/T Plus and Scat Pack models. When you add in the Performance Handling Group, most features of the Scat Pack can be added to the R/T – leaving the key difference to be the difference in power output. That is one of the best aspects of the new Dodge Charger SIXPACK; opting for the standard output engine doesn’t prevent you from ordering premium performance and interior features.
