The Mopar® CAP Bracket Challenge Crowns Its Winner!

The final event of the first-ever Mopar® CAP Bracket Challenge took place last week, April 25, at the Chrysler Group National Technical Training Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The last two teams, SUNY Morrisville and Waubonsee, traveled in to face off in this hands-on challenge for the championship title. The event hosted more than 70 spectators from all walks of life – Stellantis employees, industry technicians, dealer partners and even a class from a local high school.

The day began with a video from Tony Stewart Racing’s Funny Car driver Matt Hagan, congratulating both schools for having made it this far. After four timed modules designed to test the students’ knowledge, skills and communication, plus a catered lunch from a local pizzeria, SUNY Morrisville was named the winner. The four participating students took home the title plus some not-so-small prizes. The school earned a 5-drawer tool cart with a 400-piece master tool set from MAC tools (valued at $10,000!), plus individual tool sets for the participants, a letter of recommendation from the Mopar CAP program president and $500 toward a class party from Dodge. Oh yeah, and the school will receive a 2018 Challenger SRT® Demon on loan!

To Mopar CAP, everyone is a winner, and Waubonsee would not go home empty handed. To the team’s surprise they will also be receiving a loaner 2018 Challenger SRT Demon for the school’s program. We cannot wait to see what these students do next and are looking forward to future events!
