It was delivered new to Dominick Basso Chrysler Plymouth in downtown Los Angeles, California, in December of 1962. Its previous owner purchased it unrestored and after more than 20 years decided to commission a professional restoration, complete with professional body and paintwork. The car has had articles written about it in three major publications and has won numerous trophies. It is documented by Galen Govier and is listed in the 1963 Plymouth Super Stock Guide, written by Darrell Davis. A copy of the listing is included with the car. The car has the correct 426/415hp 8-cylinder engine, push-button TorqueFlite automatic transmission and Sure-Grip rear end. This Super Stock came new to the dealership with 3.23 rear end gears instead of 3.91. It was not optioned to be a drag racecar. The interior is done in black grained vinyl with rolled nylon pleated seat and door panels with contrasting copper accents.
