Mirror Mirror on the Wall…

Who’s the rarest of them all? Equipped with the 426 HEMI® V8 engine, this 1970 Plymouth Superbird started off as one of only 135 leaving the factory but became even more rare when the original owner got their hands on it. They replaced the 426 that same year with a Sox & Martin racing V8, and it became one of just a handful of its kind that were turned into Super Stock dragsters. The Superbird went on to win at the 1970 NHRA Summernationals with Tim Richards behind the wheel – making it the single example to date with an NHRA title. After being out of commission for more than forty years, the Superbird resurfaced in 2015 and the current owner had a new plan. What was next for this one-of-a-kind 1970 Plymouth Superbird turned Super Stock dragster?
