Hollywood Muscle, Buried Treasure – The Return of the Mannix Dart
Once thought lost to time, a one‑of‑one 1968 Dodge Dart GTS convertible created by George Barris for the TV series Mannix has resurfaced. Although weathered and hidden in the California mountains, it’s still unmistakably iconic. Originally finished in red, then repainted dark green, the custom convertible is one of just 271 ’68 GTS drop‑tops built with the 340 V8 and TorqueFlite. After years of obscurity, the car was tracked down, restored with original Barris details and reunited with series star Mike Connors and George Barris himself. More than a collector’s item, this Dart is a slice of television and muscle car history.
