Hurricane Ian Claims Two Mopar® Classics

A big storm is no stranger to Floridians and as Hurricane Ian approached, they took all the standard precautions. Moving classic cars is no easy task and Mike Walton, a collector in the area, says there was no way he could get them all out in time. Walton had to prioritize, moving the Dodge Daytona he bought new and his HEMI® engine-powered Plymouth Superbird first, leaving a 1969 Dodge Daytona and a 1970 Plymouth Superbird raised on lifts in the garage. Hurricane Ian sent a massive surge of water into the garage, washing the lift out from under the two Mopar® vehicles and dragging them outside. The Superbird was flipped in the storm, taking the most damage between the two, but both needed a full rebuild after the damage from the sand and saltwater. So, where did these two muscle cars and hurricane survivors end up? Well, on display at the MCACN Show in Chicago for starters. Read the full story and let us know what you think is next for these two classics.
